CBD oil and Sex

Can CBD help your libido? And why it’s a must have in the bedroom

For years now medical professionals have rightly raved about the many physical & mental relief CBD offers but what about sex? Along with an ever increasing list of benefits it’s not surprising that CBD can also give you a much needed boost in the bedroom.

Can CBD improve Libido?

There is a lot of research currently being done on CBD and sex. Here are the latest theories;

Less Stress = More Sex

High levels of the stress hormone ‘Cortisol’ has been proven to lower your sex drive and get in the way of your ‘sexy time ‘. For many in this post lockdown climate, stress and anxiety can play a big part in your bedroom and overall performance. CBD oil  lowers your stress levels and eases that sense of ‘stage fright’.

The Science behind it:

Through ample research we know that CBD & ESC (Endocannabinoid System) have a close and complex relationship and one of its key functions is to regulate hormone health. Since all of us have ESC receptors all over our bodies (our sexual organs too!) CBD binds to these receptors and this bind helps balance hormones and can potentially lead to increased libido.

Another fact is that CBD increases our bodies production of anandamide a name which is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning "internal bliss." When the body senses pain, anandamide binds to CB-1 and nullifies pain by blocking the signal. Anandamide also releases Oxytocin ‘the love hormone’. Elevated levels of both tend have a positive impact on social and sexual interactions.

A recent study by CBD and hemp resources website Remedy Review explores CBD’s effects on sex. Surveying 5,398 Americans, researchers focused in on 502 adults and here were the findings;

  • 72% of men and 76% of women said they experienced stronger orgasms
  • 66% of both men and women use CBD to alleviate sexual anxiety
  • Men lasted 31% longer before orgasm
  • Women reported being 33% faster to orgasm
  • 57% report being “more satisfied” with their relationship
  • 87% of men and women took CBD as a couple
  • 69% are likely to continue to use CBD for sex

Turns out, the pain-relief, coupled with increased blood flow and more relaxed muscles, has proven to be a pretty great combo for improving sexual activities.

CBD as A Lubricant

Can you use CBD as a lube? Absolutely! An added benefit of CBD for sex is that it can act as a lubricant between the sheets. Not only is it an all-natural alternative to chemical-based lubes, but CBD also has amazing anti-inflammatory properties, which could make sex more comfortable for both parties. Paving the way for female/male sexual pleasure and comfort is Cannarie with their latest product Cannalube With 500mg of active cannabinoids and all-natural ingredients like MCT oil, Aloe Vera extract, and tea tree oil, this product is intended to heighten arousal, ease discomfort, and make great sex even better.

Awareness of Erectile Dysfunction in India:

A large number of the male population in India suffer from ED. While we’re not exactly sure what CBD oil does for ED (scientists think it has to do with lowered stress and increased blood flow), some men have sworn it leads to longer-lasting sex and erm… an upward trend in alleviating ED. For those wondering, there’s no specific way to use CBD oil for Erectile Dysfunction; a couple of drops beneath the tongue, 30-40 minutes in advance, should do the trick.

Using CBD for sex is safe, and satisfying.

CBD is fairly new to the sex landscape, but it’s a natural substance with a track record of aiding in relaxation. Although CBD sex products are not officially approved, the World Health Organization says it’s a generally safe compound, both legally and physically.
